CHALLENGE
While Thomson/RCA is known for their technologically advanced line of consumer electronics, the online debut of their Small Wonder compact digital camcorder struggled to adequately demonstrate the product's full potential. Thomson/RCA partnered with MediaSauce to help the Small Wonder make a bigger impact.
ASSESSMENT
MediaSauce recognized that while the RCA Small Wonder was a technological breakthrough, the current website for the device did not fully explain or communicate its capabilities. Furthermore, the site struggled to engage the audience, without any demonstration of how the product could impact the life of the consumer.
STRATEGY
MediaSauce was able to strengthen the effectiveness of the website by engaging users with a variety of flash videos demonstrating the usefulness and simplicity of the Small Wonder. Site visitors were also presented with a variety of video testimonials, featuring the product from a user's perspective. To further engage the audience, two video contests were hosted on the site, inviting site visitors to submit their best personal videos for an opportunity to win a Small Wonder.
